Feedback to the European Union Methane Strategy Initiative

The European Union (EU) is working to develop a policy framework to reduce methane emissions from the energy, waste, and agricultural sectors. It held a feedback process, which ended today, to collect the standpoints and views of the general aspects of the initiative from stakeholders.

This document provides insight of my views regarding the objectives and ambition to the EU Methane Strategy, technical recommendations to the European Union for the development of the roadmap, and an important message for the entire international community regarding the way we currently calculate the impact from methane emissions in Multilateral Environmental Agreements, such as the Paris Agreements and Kyoto Protocol.
